Ferndale girls’ soccer finally gets offense rolling

Ferndale’s girls’ soccer team broke out of its offensive slump with a big 7-0 Northwest Conference win over Sedro-Woolley on Thursday, Oct. 1, at Ferndale High School.

Paige Devine scored two goals, Maddie Smith scored twice and Elsa Ericson, Katelyn Neher and Mikayla Emmert all got on the board.

“We were waiting for this game because we’ve struggled to score,” Ferndale coach Joe Gonzalez said. “We finally found the back of the net a few times.”

The Golden Eagles now get the league’s stiffest competition when they play Squalicum on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at home.
