Meridian’s offensive game wins 7-1 over Blaine

Meridian girls’ soccer came together with an attacking offense for a 7-1 win over Blaine on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Pipeline Fields.

“They have some quick, spicy players who can hold their own,” Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview. “Mikhayla Boyd really impressed me. She’s quick and she’s just a freshman.”

Payton Lunde scored three goals and assisted twice for Meridian. Micaela Pimento also scored three goals and had an assist. Ashley Quesada scored the single goal for Blaine.

Both teams play again on Thursday, Oct. 1. Blaine plays Bellingham at 7 p.m. at Whatcom Community College and Meridian hosts Lynden at 4 p.m.
