Bellingham girls’ soccer wins 5-0

Bellingham girls’ soccer won 5-0 over Lynden Christian on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

“Bellingham played a great game,” Lynden Christian coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview. “That was probably the most complete game they have played so far this year, both halves, they were just really wonderful.”

Brooke Baker scored three goals for Bellingham. Peyton Schwinger scored one and assisted on two. Both played a strong offensive game that Lynden Christian just could not defend against, De Ruyter said.

Both teams play again at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1. Bellingham goes up against Blaine at Whatcom Community College and Lynden Christian plays Squalicum at Civic Stadium.
