Nooksack Valley girls’ soccer loses 6-4 to Anacortes

The Anacortes girls’ soccer team won 6-4 over Nooksack Valley on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Nooksack Elementary.

“It was a complete full-team effort,” Nooksack Valley coach Kevin Rus said in a phone interview. “They all played as a team, which is why we were able to get some goals. The first two goals came off of rebounds from other players shooting, so it was just kind of echos the whole team effort.”

Robyn VanWingerden, Yessenia Moncada, Caitlyn Macy and Saara Huhta scored goals for Nooksack Valley. Megan Bellusci scored four of the goals for Anacortes.

Nooksack Valley plays Sehome at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, at Northwest Soccer Fields.
