Meridian shuts out Nooksack with 7-0 victory

Meridian girls’ soccer had a 7-0 victory against Nooksack Valley on Thursday, Sept. 24, at Nooksack Elementary.

“(Mikaela) Pimento has been our leading scorer this year and she finished tonight’s game with a hat trick, which is exciting for her,” Meridian coach Terri Tigert said in a phone interview.

Emily Brackinreed scored two goals and assisted on another. Payton Lunde and Tanis Harrison each scored a goal. Sydney Gospodinovich had a shutout game, with no shots on goal from Nooksack Valley.

Both teams play again on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Meridian goes up against Blaine at 4 p.m. at Pipeline Fields and Nooksack Valley hosts Anacortes at 4:30 p.m. at Nooksack Elementary.
