Bellingham scored in the last minute, ties Ferndale 1-1

Ferndale girls’ soccer and Bellingham tied 1-1 on Thursday, Sept. 24, at Civic Stadium.

“This was a very even hot game,” Bellingham assistant coach Jared Fields said in a phone interview. “Two teams came out and were really ready.”

Maddie Smith scored the single goal for Ferndale and Kayla Heidenreich scored for Bellingham. Morgan Jones also had a very notable game for Bellingham, making a strong effort playing multiple positions, Fields said.

Both teams play again on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Ferndale goes against Sehome at 7 p.m. at Civic Stadium and Bellingham plays at Lynden Christian at 4 p.m.
