In a somewhat rare non-conference game after the Northwest Conference season has already started, Blaine prep girls’ soccer fell to Granite Falls 4-1 on Saturday, Sept. 19, on the road.
Ashley Quesada evened the score at 1-1 just seven minutes in but Granite Falls tallied three second-half goals for the victory despite Blaine goalie Tessa Kelly’s 12 saves.
“We saw some good hard work. It was a good opportunity to cycle everyone through,” Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview, “work through some kinks in the lineup. Even though we came out behind, we gave a good effort.”
Blaine takes on Lynden on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Bender Fields.
