Could the Meridian soccer team bounce back and earn a trip to state?

The Meridian girls soccer team was shut out for the second straight time in a winner-to-state game of the Class 1A bi-district tournament Saturday at Sultan, falling 2-0 to South Whidbey.

The loss ends the Trojans’ season with a 9-9-4 mark.

Meridian fell 4-0 to Overlake on Thursday after placing third in the 1A Northwest District Tournament last week and beating Northwest 2-0 in an elimination game Tuesday.
