Sehome recovers from slow start for big win over Anacortes

The Sehome girls soccer team got off to a little bit slower start than it would want but rebounded nicely to get a 6-0 Northwest Conference win over Anacortes on Friday, Sept. 23, at Phillips 66 Soccer Park.

“It was super windy out there ... but we warmed up and put some passes together,” Mariners coach Andria Fountain said. “We’re just focusing on what we need to do, no matter who the opponent is or what the score is.”

Payton Boehm scored a pair of goals for Sehome, including one on a penalty kick and one off an assist from Fiona Dawson. Dawson also scored a goal, and Sophia Pagnotta also had a goal and an assist. Tatum Devlin picked up the shutout in net for the Mariners.

Sehome (6-1, 3-1 NWC) next will travel to Mount Baker on Monday, Sept. 26.
