What must the Nooksack Valley football team do to be successful in 2016?

1 Building confidence

Coach Robb Myhre consistently mentions confidence being key to the Pioneers’ success in 2016. After starting young players in 2015, the Pioneers return 11 starters on each side of the ball. They now have more confidence and experience, and that could help the Pioneers in 2016.

2 Building a wall

Protecting quarterback Casey Bauman will be vital for the Pioneers’ success season, and that means the offesnive line will have to step up. Bauman runs the spread well, but he needs time to find his target and make a good throw. The more time Bauman gets in the pocket, the more the Pioneers will benefit.

3 Finding balance

Even though Nooksack Valley runs a spread formation that throws often, establishing the run also will be important for the Pioneers. In 2015 the Pioneers didn’t have one player to rush for more than 300 yards. This will have to change for Nooksack to keep opposing defenses on their toes.
