Ferndale incoming freshman Geirean Hatchett has been selected to participate in the USA Football Development Games, which will be held July 19-23 in Canton, Ohio.
Hatchett, a defensive lineman who also might play offensive line, in May attended a Seattle-based regional development camp, where he was selected as one of the standout players and earned a spot in the Development Games.
“A gifted baseball player, Hatchett seems right at home on the gridiron,” read a USA Football review of Hatchett’s performance at the Seattle camp. “He moves well for his size and could have a bright future playing football.”
At the Development Games, Hatchett will have an opportunity to play alongside some of the nation’s top players in his age group and possibly be selected to Team USA to play against international teams later this summer in Arlington, Texas.
