Scouting report: Quarterback Dallas Isaak accounted for 11 touchdowns to lead Almira-Coulee-Hartline to a 82-70 Class 1B semifinal win over Liberty Christian last week. The win extended the Warriors’ win streak to 12 games and exacted revenge for the Warriors’ lone loss — a 66-42 season-opening loss to Liberty Christian. ACH’s win came after trailing 30-14 late in the first half. Isaak completed 12 of 25 passes for 304 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran for 272 yards and six scores on 35 carries. Receiver Charles Hunts caught eight passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. ACH’s state title run comes a year removed from a 2-8 season.
Player to watch: Dallas Isaak was Almira-Coulee-Hartline’s entire offense last week, so odds are all eyes will be on the 5-foot-10 senior quarterback.

Blackhawks update
State appearances: 12
State record: 15-10
State title game appearances: Three
State titles: 1 (2010)
League: Northwest 1B League (second, 3-1)
Coach: Jim Sandusky (13 seasons, 126-32)
Scouting report: Lummi snapped its nine-game losing streak to Neah Bay and ended the Red Devils’ 34-game win streak by earning a 26-20 Class 1B State Semifinal win at the Tacoma Dome last weekend. Trazil Lane threw for a touchdown pass, caught two TDs and finished with a game-high 143 receiving yards on six receptions. Free Borsey caught touchdown passes of 29 and 36 yards and finished with 91 receiving yards. The Blackhawks’ defense extended its state playoff scoreless streak to 11 quarters before Neah Bay’s fourth-quarter rally came up short.
Player to watch: Hank Hoskins offered Lummi hard running on offense and, at linebacker, a solid tackler during Lummi’s win last week. The Blackhawks will need him at his best in the title game.

Key to the game: Almira-Coulee-Hartline had to open some eyes last week, putting up 82 points during a state semifinal game, and Lummi coach Jim Sandusky said it was a hard-earned 82, no flukey plays. Much of that production came from senior quarterback Dallas Isaak, who accounted for 11 touchdowns. Isaak provides many problems for defenses. He uses his athletic ability to extend plays when he drops back, and that allows his receivers to find open space. Isaak is also a big-time running threat. It’s imperative Lummi contains him and sticks to ACH’s receivers on the back end. The Blackhawks have to have one of the state’s best 1B defenses with Hank Hoskins, Free Borsey, Raven Borsey and Trazil Lane among others, so if Lummi can contain ACH’s offense like it did against Neah Bay, the Blackhawks could bring home their second state championship.
Prediction: Lummi 34-26
