Storm football moves up as Lions drop out of poll
The Squalicum football team moved from No. 7 to No. 6 in the Class 2A Associated Press Washington State Prep Football Poll released Wednesday, Sept. 23, after a 27-0 victory over the Lynden Lions in Week 3 of the season. The Storm is 3-0.
The Lions (1-2) dropped from No. 6 to receiving no votes in this week’s 2A poll.
Burlington-Edison (3-0) jumped from being unranked to a tie for No. 4 after beating defending 2A state champion Sedro-Woolley (2-1), which dropped from No. 1 to seventh, 21-7.
In the Class 1A poll, Mount Baker (1-1) stayed at No. 5 after a 52-0 win over Leavenworth Cascade.
Lummi moved up one spot to No. 4 in Class 1B after a 72-64 win over Seattle Lutheran.
Camas stayed at No. 1 in Class 4A, East Catholic kept its No. 1 ranking in the 3A and Tumwater is the new No. 1 in Class 2A. Royal stayed at No. 1 in 1A, Lind-Ritzville Sprague took over No. 1 in the Class 2B and Liberty Christian stayed at No. 1 in 1B
