Sehome begins football practice looking to finish
Sehome, which is coming off a 3-7 season after reaching the Class 2A State Tournament in 2013, practiced Thursday, August. 20, at Sehome High School.
The Mariners did have ability last fall, evidenced by their 42-21 win over Ferndale, but Sehome struggled to close out games. The team suffered a heartbreaking 20-19 defeat to Blaine and then took a 21-13 loss to Burlington-Edison to close the regular season.
Sehome brings back a lot athleticism in heralded defensive back and offensive threat Taylor Rapp, as well as a handfull of strong offensive and defensive linemen.
“I think we were competitive, but those close games didn’t go our way,” Sehome coach Bob Norvell said in an interview, “so I think just learning how to compete from these guys. And this is a tough this senior class. They are hungry and they like to get after it.”
