One week after allowing 59 points, how would the Bellingham defense respond?
Strong defensive play led the Bellingham football team to a 20-7 2A Northwest Conference victory at Anacortes Friday night.
“Our defense played really well,” Red Raiders coach Ted Flint said. “We almost had a shutout. We gave up one big play and one big penalty, but that was about it.”
Quarterback Nick Knutson had a pair of scoring throws to Spencer Lee and Ethan Berschauer, and Connor Wallace ran for the other score for Bellingham.
The Red Raiders (4-4, 2-3 2A NWC) wrap up 2A NWC play next week when they host Lakewood.
