Squalicum’s offense came to play in a big way thanks to the return of a key player

After two weeks of scoring in the 20s, the Squalicum football team got back to its high-powered offensive ways with a 55-20 win over 3A Wesco North rival Marysville-Getchell Friday at Civic Stadium.

Triston Smith returned from injury to provide some stability in the Storm backfield, but quarterback Spencer Lloyd shined behind center as he ran and threw for big yards. Squalicum led 41-13 at halftime.

On the defensive side of the ball, Ja’Lique Martin had an interception, and Carson Dvorachek stuffed the run Getchell rushing attack at the line of scrimmage.

“I liked what I saw from our team of both sides,” Storm coach Nick Lucey said. “We did a nice job of moving the ball and getting pressure on their line.”
