Despite it’s fourth loss in as many games, the Sehome football team showed a new level of effort in its 35-21 loss to host Anacortes Friday.
Sehome had a players-only meeting Monday after watching film of last week’s loss to Lakewood, and coach Kevin Beason said it manifested itself in Friday’s game. The Mariners showed improvement on the offensive line and blocked much better as a group.
“We emphasized playing together, and the boys did exactly what we asked them to do today,” Beason said. “It stings a bit tonight but I continue to be proud of the effort these boys play with.”
It was the bounce-back from a disappointing 41-6 loss to Lakewood last week that Beason was looking for.
