Here are five Lynden Christian football players to keep an eye on in 2017
Here are five players who could impact the 2017 football season for Lynden Christian:
George De Jong
Senior OL/DL: At 6-foot-6, he’ll always be one of the tallest players on the field, but he’s also got some muscle on that frame. He was selected first-team All-1A NWC along both lines as a junior and should be a big part of what LC does this year.
Jordan Riddle
Senior RB/DB: Riddle earned first-team All-1A NWC honors last year after leading the team with 712 yards and eight touchdowns rushing. Will also play a large role on what figures to be a strong LC defense as a hybrid defensive back-linebacker.
Kalai Jandoc
Senior WR/DB: Led the Lyncs with 409 yards receiving on just 18 catches (22.7 average) and scored three touchdowns as a junior. He, Hunter Te Velde and Michael Lancaster will be the team’s top receivers and defensive backs.
Max Likkel
Senior OL/DL: Had a great offseason in the weight room, coach Dan Kaemingk said, as he bulked up to 6-foot-5, 260 pounds. He will be a physical presence and a difference maker along the offensive and defensive fronts for the Lyncs this year.
Ty Van Dyken
Senior QB/DB: Backed up Colby Flint last year, attempting 26 passes, and Kaemingk said he’s had a good camp this year. May be pushed for some playing time behind center by junior Payton Robertson, who Kaemingk said, “can flat out throw the ball.”
