Lynden had plenty of big wins on road to 2A state championship game

Lynden went finished the season 23-4 and advanced to the third state championship game in the program’s history. Take a look back at the road the landed the Lions the second-place trophy.

Dec. 1 at Lynden

LYNDEN 48, CHARLES BEST 34

Elisa Kooiman had 17 points, 11 rebounds and four assists to lead the Lions to a season-opening win.

Dec. 4 at Sedro-Woolley

LYNDEN 57, SEDRO-WOOLLEY 32

Kooiman scored 26 points and Sierra Smith added 10 in the Lions’ non-conference win.

Dec. 7 at Lynden

ANACORTES 45, LYNDEN 25

Kooiman scored eight points and Lauren Zwiers had six, but the Lions fell in a non-league game.

Smith and Mariah Gonzalez each scored 13 points, while Kooiman had 18 in a non-league win.
