Squalicum standout senior guard Josiah Westbrook will be a game-time decision when the Storm travel to face River Ridge during its Class 2A State Tournament Regional game at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Puyallup High School.

Westbrook injured his knee during the first half of Squalicum’s 62-56 overtime loss to Shorecrest during the 2A District Tournament championship game last Saturday. Westbrook missed the entire second half with a bandage wrapped around his left knee.

It was a re-aggravation of an injury Westbrook suffered during the football season, Storm coach Dave Dickson said.

“I think he is going to be a game-time decision, and I am hoping that he will be able to play.” Dickson said. “At the same time, we will wait and see.”

Westbrook was Squalicum’s leading scorer entering the district title game, averaging 17.3 points. The Storm will surely want him available against highly-ranked River Ridge.

“They are athletic and physical and are a good-rebounding team,” Dickson said of River Ridge. “Their height isn’t the biggest concern, but their athleticism and physicality is.”
