Zamora leads Lions over Seahawks

Lynden won 61-48 over Anacortes in an elimination game in the Class 2A Northwest District Boys’ Basketball Tournament on Thursday, Feb. 18, at Mount Vernon High School.

Christian Zamora led with 21 points for Lynden. Sterling Somers followed with 17 points and Noah King added 10.

“Zamora came off the bench and hit five 3s.” Lynden coach Brian Roper said in a phone interview. “That was one confident young man.”

Evan Rodriguez led Anacortes with 16 points.

The Lions go on to face the Archbishop Murphy in a winner-to-state game at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Mount Vernon High School.
