Lummi comes up big during fourth quarter
The Lummi boys’ basketball team turned it on during the fourth quarter and earned a 68-56 Class 1B Tri-District Tournament win against Mount Vernon Christian in a loser-out situation Monday, Feb. 15, at Mount Vernon Christian.
The Blackhawks led by two points entering the fourth, but Lummi outscored MVC 25-15 during the game’s final eight minutes.
Trazil Lane scored a game-high 34 points, and Mike Washington added 17.
“The fourth quarter we really found our rhythm and were able to get it going,” Lummi coach Jerome Toby said. “It was a real dog fight.”
Lummi faces Evergreen Lutheran next at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, on the road.
