Blackhawks lose to Seattle Lutheran

Lummi lost 68-44 to Seattle Lutheran in a first-round game of the Class 1B Tri-District Boys’ Basketball Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 13.

“We ran into a good ball club tonight and hopefully we can rebound,” Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. “There’s not that much time to recover so we just have to go out and play our best.”

Mike Washington led Lummi with 14 points and Trazil Lane followed with 12 points.

Josh Meyer led Seattle Lutheran with 24 points and Roberto Duenaz followed with 21 points.

Most valuable player

Mike Washington scored 14 points and played his best game, according to his coach.

Turning point of the game

Lummi’s shooting percentage was half of Seattle Lutherans’s by the end of the game, they simply could not get the ball in the basket.

Up next

Lummi will face the loser of the Mount Vernon Christian versus Neah Bay game in an elimination game at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, at Mount Vernon Christian.
