GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Lyncs grind out win at Sedro-Woolley

The Lynden Christian girls’ basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season, battling for a 48-38 Northwest Conference victory at Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday, Jan. 5.

“Sedro played us tough tonight,” Lyncs coach Brady Bomber said in a phone interview. “We had to grind it out — there wasn’t much rhythm of flow. ... It wasn’t pretty, but anytime you can get a win it’s a good thing.”

Sam Van Loo led the way for the Lyncs, recording a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

“She really battled hard inside,” Bomber said. “She did a good job on the boards.”

Kara Bajema added 16 points.
