GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Red Raiders drop home game to Australian team
Autumn Jacobson scored 14 points and recorded six rebounds for Bellingham, but the Red Raiders fell 69-45 to the Australian Traveling Team on Wednesday, Dec. 16, in nonconference play at home.
“The Australian team was really fast and really torched us in transistion,” Bellingham coach Mark Wright said in a phone interview. “I was proud of our girls for fighting to the bitter end.”
Emily Benson had six points, six rebounds and six assists for the Red Raiders, Eliza Rossman added eight points and six rebounds and Paige Jacobsen had eight points and six rebounds.
Bellingham is back in action at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, when it hosts Meridian in Northwest Conference play.
