BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Squalicum picks up well-rounded win over Cedarcrest

The Squalicum boys’ basketball team again got big games from its outstanding trio of guards, as Damek Mitchell, Darious Powell and Josiah Westbrook combined for 53 points in the Storm’s 86-45 win over visiting Cedarcrest on Saturday, Dec. 12.

But Squalicum was much more than a three-man show, as it kept its record perfect through five games.

“I thought the story of the game was how well we shared the ball and how well guys came off the bench and contributed,” Storm coach Dave Dickson said in a phone interview. “Bench play was really strong today.”

Josh Vail and Ben Wolters each scored eight points off the bench, while Noah Westerhoff added two.
