GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Golden Eagles earn home win over Borderites
The Ferndale girls’ basketball team earned a 47-25 non-conference victory over Blaine on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at home.
Kylie Honrud led the Golden Eagles with 16 points and seven rebounds, Gabrielle Edison added 11 points and Darrien Camarillo had six points and five assists.
Ferndale coach Mike Ivy said his team put it all together for the first time this season as Ferndale forced 33 Blaine turnovers and had a 35-26 rebound advantage.
”We’ve been trying to play aggressive all year and this was the first game we put it all together,” Ivy said in a phone interview. “I think we were able to play a little uptempo.”
Ashley Dickerson had eight points to lead the Borderites.

Lynden Christian 76, Sedro-Woolley 27: Sam Van Loo had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Haley Hollander had 13 points, Emmalee Bailey added 12 points and Kara Bajema had 10 points as Lynden Christian earned the non-conference win at home over Sedro-Woolley. The Lyncs had a 38-12 advantage in rebounds as they improved to 4-0 on the season. Taylor Torgeson led the Cubs with 10 points.
