GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Tyler leads Mountaineers to second straight win
Behind a dazzling performance from freshman Danielle Tyler, Mount Baker earned a 58-56 victory over Ferndale in non-conference play on Thursday, Dec. 3, at Ferndale High School.
Tyler’s 18 points led the Mountaineers (2-0), as they got out to a big lead. Ferndale (0-2) closed the gap in the second half and had a chance to tie with 3.4 seconds left but couldn’t get a shot off.
“I’m proud of the way the girls came back,” Golden Eagles coach Mike Ivy said in a phone interview.
Ferndale had three girls score in double figures — Gabrielle Edison (20), Darrien Camarillo (10) and Peyton Humbert (10).
