Three county baseball players selected to all-state game
Whatcom County baseball players Noah Rawls (Nooksack Valley), Ernie Yake (Squalicum) and Kyle Sandstrom (Ferndale) have been selected to play in Washington’s All-State Game on Saturday-Sunday, June 11-12, at Parker Field in Yakima.
Rawls, who posted an 8-2 record with a 1.00 ERA and 126 strikeouts, will play for Team Rainier. Yake, a shortstop who hit for a .525 average with 24 RBI and 16 stolen bases, is playing for Team Adams. Sandstrom, an outfielder who hit for a .459 average with 12 RBI, will also play for Team Adams.
The weekend includes one game Saturday and another on Sunday, all-star team photos and a banquet.
Yake will play at Mesa Community College next year, while Rawls will pitch for Bellevue College and Sandstrom will play at Lower Columbia Community College.
