Ferndale rolls in elimination game

After going down 2-0 in the first inning, Ferndale went on to score eight unanswered runs in its Class 3A Northwest District Tournament win 13-3 over Edmonds-Woodway on Tuesday, May 10, at Ferndale High School.

Kyle Sandstrom jump started Ferndale’s offense with a two-run double in the third inning that helped keep the Golden Eagles’ season alive. Ferndale then added five runs in the fourth inning and four runs in the sixth inning to end the game in the sixth.

“We weren’t very crisp at the start,” coach Donny Hennigs said. “Once we got going offensively things started coming together. We worked counts and one through nine in our order got hits.”
