Benson hits walkoff for Ferndale

Ferndale rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win a Northwest Conference game 5-4 against Squalicum on a walkoff sac-fly by Reid Benson on Tuesday, April 26.

Max Jeffrey singled after the Golden Eagles had tied the game on a Squalicum throwing error, and after advancing to third base, Benson drove him in for his second RBI of the game.

“I told him to look for a fastball and he was able to get enough on it to win the game,” Ferndale coach Donny Hennigs said. “It was a well played game by both teams but we battled back.”
