Clutch hitting lifts Meridian
Each time Meridian scored was with two outs in the inning as the Trojans earned a 4-2 nonleague win over Coupeville on Saturday, April 23.
Meridian was led by Henry Skaggs, who was 1 for 3 with a bases-clearing double in the second inning. Baker Otter added one more in the sixth inning to give the Trojans a two-run cushion. Coach Steve Slesk said that he feels his team is trending up.
“It felt pretty good to win after traveling for an hour and a half,” Slesk said in a phone interview. “I like the direction we’re headed.”
