Ferndale’s Shaw improves to 5-1 with shutout of Glacier Peak
Ferndale’s Mason Shaw threw a complete game shutout in a non-league win against Glacier Peak on Friday, April 22.
Shaw struck out three and allowed four hits for his fifth win of the season. Kyler Schemstad was 1 for 3 with an RBI double, and Troy Lacey went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Coach Donny Hennigs said Shaw lead the way against a team the Golden Eagles may see in the playoffs.
“They’re a quality team we could run into down the road,” Hennigs said in a phone interview. “It’s a good measuring stick for us.”
