Blaine baseball beats Coupeville 12-2 in five innings

Jon Starcer had two runs, a double and a triple; Chase Abshere had two RBI and a double and Josh Fakkema had three runs and an RBI as the Blaine baseball team beat Coupeville 12-2 in five innings Monday, April 11, at Pipeline Fields.

Jon Gunderson (3-2) earned the win with two strikeouts in four innings of work.

Blaine coach Larry Hoffman said the Borderites are playing well as of late and going to need to continue.

“We’re getting into a stretch where we are going to need to play well,” Hoffman said in a phone interview. “We’ve been playing well recently so hopefully that will carry over.”
