Meridian earns road win over Freeman

Brady Moore helped Meridian open up its nonleague game with Freeman with a bases-loaded, fourth-inning triple as the Trojans earned a 20-8 road win over Freeman on Friday, April 8.

Meridian logged 16 hits and the 20 runs was a season-high. Freeman was previously undefeated.

Moore, who also earned the win in a spot start, was 4 for 4, and Bryson Hickok, Dakota Jones and Simon Burkett each had two hits.

“I’m really happy,” Meridian coach Steve Slesk said. “They are a quality team. ... (Moore) did what he needed to do, went 5 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out three.”

Meridian (3-7, 1-3 NWC) return to league action against Lynden at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 12.
