Sehome opens with road split
Sehome junior pitcher Dylan Harper threw a complete game one-run, three-hitter to help the Mariners earn a road split during a doubleheader Satuarday, March 12, in Yakima.
Sehome fell 3-1 to Selah during the first game but earned a 2-1 win against East Valley Yakima.
Felix Zavisubin and Shane Jamison each had two hits against East Valley, and Harper struck out nine.
“You always want to split on the road, especially when you’re playing the best two teams in the Yakima Valley area,” Sehome coach Monte Walton said. “I like the way our guys competed and hustled.”
Zavisubin took the loss against Selah, and the Mariners were held to just two hits, which Cameron Tipton and Owen Wright provided.
