Rawls, Stealy power Post 7 to pair of wins
The American Legion Post 7 baseball team rode consecutive strong starts from Noah Rawls and David Stealy to a pair of wins during a doubleheader Thursday, June 25, at Joe Martin Field.
Post 7 beat the ESC Tigers 5-2 thanks to a complete-game, four-hitter from Rawls before adding a 3-0 complete-game, four-hit shutout courtesy of Stealy.
“We just got two real good pitching performances out of Noah and David,” Post 7 coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. We needed two good, complete games and we got them.”
Jordan Wittenberg combined went 4 for 6, and Ernie Yake recorded three of Post 7’s five hits during the 3-0 victory.
Post 7 (16-5) rests second in the league standings and faces Juanita next in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Sehome High School.
