Ferndale’s Shearer selected for all-state baseball game

Ferndale senior catcher Brady Shearer was Whatcom County’s only selection for the annual Washington All-State baseball game.

The Golden Eagle hit for a .455 average this season, recorded 25 hits with 15 runs scored and 14 RBI. He was paramount in helping Ferndale reach the Class 3A State Tournament and finish with a 19-6 record.

Shearer was also a first-team All-Northwest Conference selection.

As a member of Team St. Helens, Shearer will play at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Parker Field in Yakima. Shearer’s Team St. Helens also will play Sunday.
