LC junior selected to softball all-state tournament team

Lynden Christian junior shortstop Avery Dykstra was selected second-team All Class 1A Softball State Tournament in a vote of the state coaches that was released Wednesday.

Dykstra and the Lyncs lost both games they played at the state tournament in May, but finished the season 12-12 overall and sixth in the Northwest Conference with a 8-5 record.

Montesano’s Sam Stanfield was a unanimous choice as tournament MVP.
