Nielsen, Hakeman to swim at college

Bellingham Bay Swim Team members Olivia Nielsen and Colin Hakeman will continue their swimming careers in college.

Nielsen, a Squalicum senior, will swim at Loyola Marymount University, and Sehome’s Hakeman will swim at Willamette University.

“A life of swimming has provided me with an unwavering, strong work ethic,” Nielsen said in a press release. “Ultimately the ability to proficiently manage time, work tenaciously and to always find ways to challenge and push myself way beyond limits has not just simply been learned but engraved into me by the sport.”
