Ferndale athletes advance to Class 3A State Championships
The Ferndale girls’ track and field team finished eighth with 38.5 points and the boys finished 12th with 18 points after the Class 3A Northwest District Championships on Friday, May 20, at Marysville-Pilchuck.
The top three in each event advance to the state tournament, which is next weekend at Mount Tahoma.
Rylee Weg was second in the triple jump (36 feet, 04.00 inches), Gabrielle Edison finished third in the shot (34-07.00), Gabriella Gould was third in the pole vault (10-06.00) and Paige Devine was third in the 300 hurdles (46.73 seconds).
On the boys’ side, Ben Broselle won the javelin (175-01) and the 4x100 team finished second with a time of 44.77.
