Lane qualifies for state in 4 events

Lummi’s Trazil Lane won the 200 meters, high jump, finished second in the long jump and ran a leg of the Blackhawks’ winning 4x100 relay team during the Class 1B Tri-District Championships on Thursday, May 19, at Port Angeles.

Lane posted a time of 23.11 seconds in the 200 and cleared 6 feet in the high jump. Free Borsey won a title in the triple jump with a mark of 39 feet, 6 1/2 inches, and he also ran a leg on Lummi’s 4x100 team.

Girls sprinter Raeschelle Washington placed fifth in the 100, fifth in the 200 and sixth in the 400 for the best girls’ finishes of the day.
