Ferndale’s Maeson Mullins and Jillian Anderson secured spots in next week’s state championships with overall scores of 201 during the Class 3A Northwest Girls’ Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 18, at Kayak Golf Course in Stanwood.
Mullins (101) and Anderson (99) finished in the top 18 golfers that advance to the Class 3A State Championships on Tuesday, May 24, at Indian Canyon Golf Course, in Spokane.
Joining them as a first alternate is Lauren Hamm (102), who tied the cut line of 204 and won a chip-off competition to be considered an alternate.
“We’re going to be practicing like crazy from now until then,” coach Margie Hovde said. “I have no doubt that they’ll compete well at state.”
