Sehome girls place 8th at state

Sehome placed eighth at the WIAA State 2A/3A Gymnastics Championship with 145.55 points.

Sehome’s Jordyn Correll will advance to the finals on Saturday, Feb. 19, after her score of 8.625 on bars. She earned 17th overall with a 33.95 points.

“A lot of the gymnastics old-timers were really happy to see Sehome back on the scene,” Coach Mullins said.

All five competitors were freshman and this was their first time competing at state, Mullins said. Erin Eiswald placed in the top third on uneven bars and Skylar Walston placed in the top half on balance beam.

Squalicum’s Jordan Cucksey scored 8.05 on bars, placing in the top 26. She also tied for 28 overall with 31.925 points. Juliana Jeffrey placed 23 overall, with a score of 32.825.
