Lynden’s Bueno wins title at Baker Invite

Lynden’s Isaac Bueno won a 152-pound title and led the Lions to a fifth-place finish during the Mount Baker Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Tuesday, Dec. 22, in Deming.

The Lions scored 104 points, Sehome placed sixth with 87 points, Mount Baker was eighth with 79 points and Nooksack Valley’s 76 points was good for ninth place. Twelve teams competed.

Mount Baker’s Jesus Torrero (138) and Jeremiah Cronk (160), Lynden’s Payton Peterson-Scotter (145) and Pablo Martinez (113) and Nooksack Valley’s Tyson Mergel (285) reached the finals but lost.
