Bellingham’s Reiss finishes 24th at BorderClash
Bellingham freshman Annika Reiss was the top local finisher at the Nike BorderClash cross country race on Sunday, Nov. 22, at Beverton, Ore.
Reiss finished 24th on the 5,000-meter course with a time of 18 minutes: 59.8 seconds. Sehome’s Abby Johnson finished 70th in 20:03.7
On the boys’ side, Sehome’s Colton Johnsen was the top Whatcom County finisher in 36th with a time of 16:27.3. Bellingham’s Cade Brown was 61st in 16:53.1, and Sehome’s Riley Allsop was right behind in 62nd in 16:53.1.
The BorderClash annually matches the top Washington and Oregon placers in their respective high school state championship races. Washington won both team titles on Sunday.
