LC volleyball repeats as state champions
The Lynden Christian volleyball team successfuly defended its Class 1A state title.
The Lyncs beat Bothell Cedar Park Christian 25-20, 25-19, 25-21 in the championship match of the 1A State Tournament on Saturday night, Nov. 14, at the Yakima Valley SunDome.
LC won its first title in its first appearance in the championship game in 2014.
Earlier in the day, the Lyncs had to rally to beat Kalama in five sets in the semifinals.
After dropping the first set, the Lyncs found themselves in a 2-1 hole, but won the final two sets to claim a hard-fought 17-25, 25-22, 26-28, 25-19, 15-9 victory over the Chinooks.
Lynden Christian is the first 1A repeat champion since King’s in 2008 and 2009.
