Borsey leads way, but Lummi shut out of state cross country
Free Borsey was the top Lummi finisher in 21st place, as the Blackhawks did not have anybody advance through to state at the Class 1B/2B District 1-3 Boys’ Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31, at South Whidbey High School.
Only the top two teams and any individuals among the top 10 earned trips to state next week.
Borsey turned in a time of 23 minutes, 35.65 seconds, and teammate Quincy Lane was less than a minute back in 23rd with a time of 24:25.07.
Tyler Hoyle won the race in 18:08.84 and led Crosspoint to the team title with 27 points.
