The Anacortes girls’ swim team came out on top in the Northwest Conference Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Fidalgo Pool, holding off Sehome and Squalicum.
Several swimmers recorded state qualifying times, including most winners of events and three backstrokers.
Sehome took two of the three relays — the 200 medley and 400 free — while Lynden’s team of Jadyn Elias, Alyea DeBoer, Annie Uribe and Shelby Dewaard won the 200 free relay.
“It was a fun start to the season,” Sehome coach Don Helling said in a phone interview.
