THE BELLINGHAM HERALD

SERENA ALLENDORFER

School: Squalicum

Year: Senior

Event: Freestyle

Outlook: Allendorfer will now take on a leadership role for the team as a senior captain, but her talent still lies in the pool. Allendorfer took third in the 100 freestyle at the Class 2A State Championships and fifth in the 50 freestyle.

SOPHIE GRAMBO

School: Sehome

Year: Senior

Event: Freestyle

Outlook: The speedy short-distance freestyle swimmer will continue to look for improvement after finishing 16th in the 50 freestyle and 12th in the 100 freestyle at the Class 2A State Championships last year.

YANRAN LE

School: Squalicum

Year: Sophomore

Event: Individual Medley

Outlook: Le came onto the prep swimming season last year in spectacular fashion, dominating during the Northwest Conference season before taking sixth in the 200 IM at the Class 2A State Championships and fourth in the 100 breaststroke.

ALIA MALELLA

School: Sehome

Year: Junior

Event: Freestyle

Outlook: The second-place state finish by the Mariners was due to the extreme depth they had and Malella fit perfectly in her first year on the team. She finished fifth in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke at the Class 2A State Championships.

SUNNI STERNHAGEN

School: Bellingham

Year: Senior

Event: Diving

Outlook: The entire Northwest Conference diving crop seems to be strong and Sunni Sternhagen is one that should make state again. She did so last year, finishing 18th, and will look to make the final 16 this year.
